Love is in the air

Love is in the air

I am sitting here with my second cup of coffee, listening to the clock tick quietly behind me, and the sun is coming in. How did we get so lucky with this February weather?

Though Jeremy and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, I have to participate at work being in charge of the beautiful baked goods. On Friday before my weekend could begin I decorated mountains of mini and regular sized cupcakes, heart shaped cookie cakes, and then came up with a little something of my own.

This is a dark chocolate cup, strawberry cupcake, pink buttercream, Ghirradeli chocolate drizzle and a dark chocolate covered strawberry on top. I put them in my case with some of our more fancy decorated strawberries from the produce department.

After work Jeremy and I had no plans but to stay in, have a glass of wine and eat some fajitas for dinner. Look at this sad play with me face…

A friend of his ended up coming over afterwards though and stayed the night because it got too late so yesterday morning I snuck out of the house with Ke$ha and my coffee to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. We went 2 miles and I ended up having to loop back around to the house to shed some layers.

When we got back I did a superset workout and made myself an omelette with the left over fajita mixture.

When Jeremy’s friend left we headed out to run some errands that we had planned. We made our way down to Soulard to get some spices from the spice shop and ended up also buying a papaya.

It was honestly too nice not to make your way outdoors yesterday. We picked up garlic pepper with salt, fajita seasoning and taco seasoning. Not only are the spices so good but they are inexpensive too. We spent $13 in total for all of this.

After Soulard we ran to grab a couple things (shampoo, conditioner, a new pair of shorts for Jeremy). There was also a stop to use Jeremy’s free coffee from Starbucks. We split a quad venti iced molten chocolate latte.

We then made our way to help our friends pack up their house. When we stopped at home I made myself a peanut butter and banana roll up to hold me over until dinner. Ke$ha never misses an opportunity for those two ingredients…

It’s so weird to walk into a house you’ve spent time in and find it almost completely empty. We spent a few hours moving stuff out to a pod and packing it in and then we all decided to grab dinner together. We had El Maguey and it was delicious. There were margaritas and we downed some chips in no time. I fell asleep on the couch by 8:30pm. (This may be a stretch, I think it could have been earlier).

Today I am planning on making some pup treats for valentines, Ke$ha has always been our valentine and we have games tonight at 8:10pm and 9pm. I am going to be tired tomorrow!  As for right now, the spoiled pup is begging for a walk and I think it’s only fair to take her since it is so nice out.

Happy Sunday all!
