Week 1 – Day 4
What a bland title. I’ll work on it, promise.
This week has been just that though so it fits. I went back to work Monday, at 5am nonetheless, to do end of year inventory. Inventory is inventory, by no means fun, but necessary.
When I got off work I tackled two workouts and made sure to make them as challenging as possible. I went from my norm of 8# dumbbells to my husbands 15# dumbbells. 15#s are good for me when I want to up my side lunges and rows but I think I need to invest in some 10s so that when I want to up my lateral raises and bicep curls I’m not hurting myself. I was motivated by the delicious dinner my hubby was cooking up for me.
Speaking of, he made me from scratch chicken pot pie. While I was working out he was simmering onions and garlic. We want to patent a candle that smells like that, it’s our favorite cooking smell. Would anyone else buy it?
I took a bunch of pictures. Just the veggies and chicken, then with sauce, then out of the oven and of course a “get in my belly” picture. That’s what I call the last picture before I start to devour it and it still looks semi decent.
I had to stop on the way home from work that day to grab some milk for our coffees and I stumbled upon the S’mores Halo Top ice-cream. It’s been on the top of my to-try list ever since they came out with the 10 new flavors at the end of last year. The wait was oh-so worth it. I can’t wait to get my hands on this again. Unfortunately, (not really) we just got all ten of the new flavors in at work. And what is on the ad this week? You guess it, Halo Top, $1 off per pint and then add my employee discount. Heaven.
Yesterday was not as productive as I had originally planned, even with the surprise coffee one of my coworkers brought me. Thanks again Kathleen!
This was the first time I had a flat white. This was the holiday spiced with almond milk. I will be ordering this for myself again! I worked and then ended up laying around on the couch all afternoon with a head ache. I eventually managed to get rid of it long enough to cook stir fry for dinner.
Jeremy and I also decided last night that we are going to take a week off in April and head to Las Vegas. We have been once before but I am really wanting to see a Cirque du Soleil show and do a couple other activities that we missed the last time we were there.
Tonight we are off to play volleyball so I cooked spaghetti squash and added in some diced tomatoes. I also made chicken and seasoned it up Italian style.
I have one more day at work and then it’s a three day weekend for this girl. I plan on taking down the rest of the Christmas decorations, getting my hair cut, having my mom and brothers over for my brother’s make up birthday dinner and we may even cave and take Ke$ha to Purina to play.
Questions for you!
1. Are your Christmas decorations still up?
2. What’s an easy, healthy dinner you like to whip up when you are low on time?
3. What are your plans this weekend?
