July, It’s Almost Gone
I’ve spent the whole month doing everything but blog but that’s okay because I always come back right?
Honestly I cannot believe it is almost August. Where has this year gone?
I guess I’ll start with last Tuesday. We got our new couch for the basement and got to go to the Panic! at the Disco and Weezer concert at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. Boy did I think I was clever when I took this photo and said “hope it doesn’t rain”. We were right outside of the cover but it was fine, a little heat wasn’t going to deter us.
The concert started promptly at 7:05pm with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and we got a surprise when we found out it was the lead singer of Jacks Manequin, a band Jeremy and I listened to almost 10 years ago when we first started dating.
I loved the wacky, waving, inflatable, arm flailing, tube men. When they were done playing Jeremy and I decided that we needed tshirts because we don’t normally but this was going to be a show we wanted a shirt from.
Then they evacuated the lawn…and this bad a** storm rolled in on top of us, while we stood in the pouring rain under a metal awning getting drenched.
We sat there for two hours, but that didn’t matter, we were going to see our favorite band perform…and then they canceled the show which turned these smiles into sadness.
I am all for safety and that, but it’s been a week and we still don’t know if we are going to see them play at a rescheduled show or just get our money back… come on guys!
We went to Ikea the next day to look at entertainment centers for the basement. We grabbed lunch first because it was almost noon and we hadn’t eaten or eaten there yet.
Jeremy got Swedish meatballs and I got chicken meatballs.
We came home with a shoe bin to put at the top of the stairs. No shoes allowed down there.
Mom’s birthday was this past Sunday so we barbecued and I made cupcakes. They were marble with an espresso buttercream and a dark chocolate covered espresso bean on top.
Ke$ha helped wrap mom’s gifts…
Today she got to go meet my boss and then get her second flu shot. When we got home I had a gift from Starbucks.
We are saving those for tomorrow morning.
Now since I am home early I can hit a hard workout. Hopefully I don’t get a cramp in my foot again and have to switch from legs to core!
