Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend turned out beautiful weather wise. It may have been pretty stinkin’ humid but no rain and that always helps me hit numbers at work.
Friday night we were going to go grocery shopping and we were going to babysit but neither happened. I worked out and made dinner and then went to bed.
Saturday was a good day at work. We were knocking things out left and right and were pretty busy. We do a lot of demos at work but Saturday was Blueprint Coffee day. I have raved about their coffee before from having it at The Mud House. I can drink it black, no sweetener or anything. That’s saying something.
I decided while I was at work that I wanted bratwurst and that meant we needed to head to the grocery store so I made a list for two weeks and we went when I got home.
I got those brats that I wanted, along with corn and baked beans. Grilled outside thanks to the previously mentioned weather.
We got a few new items at the grocery store I wanted to share with you.
The first was the Knock Your Sprouts Off bread. The macros are awesome on it: 60 calories, 0 fat, 11 carbohydrates, 2 fibers, 1 sugar and 3 protein. I had it this morning with 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter and it was delicious.
The second was the top slice buns we got for the brats. I can go without bread for my burgers and brats but Jeremy likes to have it. After we got them at work I decided we needed to have top slice buns instead of side slice. They taste the same haha.
The last new thing we got was coconut oil spray. It was $1.99 and I’ve been meaning to try it with the possibility of replacing our other spray oil. I’ll follow up on that after we use it.
Today I worked a half shift from 7-11am and then came home to run to the puppy side walk sale and have dinner at the in laws. There wasn’t much left at the puppy dog sale so we grabbed Ke$ha a few cookies and came home to prep the things we were taking to dinner. We made a salad and strawberry shortcake to share. I made three 8″ angel food loaves. We still have two left…let’s just say I really need to lift heavy tomorrow after today’s food.
My father in law always gets up really early and throws meat in the smoker all day. I really enjoy it when he makes bbq for us because it’s always so yummy! We had salad, baked beans and potato salad as well.
The strawberry shortcake was all made fresh right before we left, right down to the whipped cream. The strawberries are really good right now and it helps that I’m on a fruit kick at the moment.
I have a day and a half of work left and a lunch date Tuesday to look forward to. Ke$ha’s gotcha day is Thursday as well. I’m going to go annoy this dog cuddling her again.
